Survey To Determine Whether To Sue UC Or Disband
Every survey seems to be required to ask some questions to which you would think the perpetrator would know the answers. In keeping with tradition, we present the following questions.

Our lawyers have determined we have several causes of action. The strength of the most favorable cause depends on when UC began to assert it's right to modify or terminate medical coverage at any time, called a reservation of rights (ROR). Current evidence points to that date being 1/1/1990, when UC modified its retirement policies. Our lawyers have not found an example earlier than 1990 in the documents we supplied. If you have an earlier example, we need a copy of the document.

UC prorated their payment for medical coverage starting at 50% at 10 years of service and increasing to 100% at 20 years of service for employees hired or rehired after 1/1/1990. They paid 100 percent for employees hired prior to 1/1/1990 for 10 or more years of service.
LLNS now prorates payment based on years of service regardless of hire date.
The next questions are an attempt to identify the people affected by the change.

We need to decide if we should continue with legal action.
At the moment we have about $74,000 in our legal fund. Our legal staff estimates the cost of the next step between $75,000 and $150,000. The next step may not be the last step. These questions are aimed at determining what to do next.
